This is the face

Hey Pat, here's your entry!

So Geometry was cool today. We took the Ch. 7 test, and then we took a practice final, and then we got to go home. It was only 10:10. Yeah! Prety awesome. But then upon arriving home, I realized that I had forgotten my keys. My mom left today, so she wasn't home, and Pat was at Jr. Guards for something in Hermosa. So I tried to break in by climbing on to the courtyard, but I can't fit between the wooden things anymore. I ended up sitting in the nook that my back door is in for about an hour until Pat got home. That was prety cool. I kept trying to find ways to get in, and I kept walking all around the house. The construction people all around must think I'm crazy or something, because I was just wandering around for an hour. Oh well. I finished the first section of On The Road while I was waiting. Then Pat came home and we decided to order lunch from Beach Pizza. He got an extra large thin crust half cheese, half pepperoni pizza that cost $20!!! I wanted a chicken caesar salad that cost $5, and he got mad at me for wanting something rediculously expensive. Oh well. He says that he's in charge because he's stronger. I say pshhh no.

I got an email from Kodak saying that they fixed my printer, and it'll be back in about four business days! Which means...Tuesday/Wednsday! It's exciting...I miss my USB cable.

I babysat from 2-6 today, and I am again tomorrow from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. It's going to be a looooooooooooong day.

White horses wandering

It's really exciting...I basically re-did my whole computer. I changed the color scheme, background, screen resolution, and all that stuff. Plus, I just got Firefox and the new version of AIM. So now everything's all awesome.

So we got a new guard coach. He seems prety cool, but the only thing that kind of threw me is that he coaches for two other high schools & coaches a drum core so his time with us might be streatched a bit. But he said he'd make it work so he could be here as much as possible, so we'll see. I thought it was werid how he didn't even bother to ask our names, though. But....WE GET TO LEARN SABRES (& do rifles, to!!!)!!! And Dr. Aguilar keeps saying he spares no expense on guard, so I'm prety excited.

Happy 4th of July!

Ivory lines lead

Today summer band started. Something I was both looking foreword to and apprehending at the same time. Today was Dr. Aguilar's first day. He seems really cool. And he really likes guard. As in he knows how to spin rifle & flag. He also was really, really surprised that we don't have new uniforms every year and stuff like that. Which is really good for us.
But..everything will be different. He's very driven and competitive. And he will be satisfied with nothing but sweeps. Which has its ups and downs. Winning is good. Winning is fun. And to have a director who will push us in that direction without making everyone hate them will be good. However, it will be extremely disheartening if we don't get sweeps & our director gets mad at us. By us, I refer to the whole band. Oh, that's another thing. He's all for guard being more a part of the band. As in, being included, not hated, etc.
The worst part for me was the realization that this was band now. It was all different. I'm not saying different is bad. But different is different. It's not what I had become used to over two years. Like, with Miss J, you knew what to expect. You knew what bad days were like, and you knew what good was too. But now we have to learn a whole new person. Like...who knows what he gets like when he looses his temper. Or when he's really satisfied with us.
And then Miss Barton. That was the hardest. Realizing that she would no longer be our coach. That still brings me to tears now. She was so great for us, and she knew us so well. She knew how to read us and understand us. I'm not saying we're not going to have a good coach, nor that I'm going to dislike guard now. I'm just saying that it's going to be so hard to get to know a new, different coach. And there's so much to question...like, will they make up silly rules and give us brick awards? Will they run us with strict, strict precision, or will they run practice in a more light-hearted, happy mood? But, the biggest question is that...will they touch us like Miss Barton did? Will they connect so well? Will they understand and sympathize with us? Will they always be there for us?
